Removing sticky stains

Removing Sticky Stains

This is a sticky stain on a step on a staircase of our clients. This carpet stain was really trodden in. However, with our special gel and a deep clean the stain was completely removed. Stain removal in itself is an incredible process. However, it is important to realise that there is so much more to it. With some other materials, really thorough scrubbing or cleaning removes stains.

However, with carpets, and especially wool carpets, scrubbing is not an option. If you start to rub or scrub a wool carpet, you will create bobbles and worn areas. These are much more difficult to fix. One of the most beautiful things about wool carpets is their patter nation. Scrubbing the fibres will damage this and it is impossible to fix.

Therefore, it is very important that if you identify a stain that you get in touch with us as soon as possible. The faster you call, the better the likely result. Our techniques are thorough, but time is always on our side the faster we get to cleaning.

One of our clients commented:

“I have used Brights cleaning services at least 5 times at different properties. The results are fantastic. Colin is always very professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.” – Julie Holland

It is really important that you are able to identify the best ways in order maintain your carpets. There are several ways in which this can be done. Remember this does not always need to be overcomplicated. Here are some tips that can offer you an insight into how to deep clean your carpets by hand.

Cleaning Staircase Carpets – Our Advice:

Regularly clean your stairs with a stiff brush or broom. This will remove dust, debris and dirt sitting within the fibres. Removing such debris regularly will mean that you will not have to clean the carpet so often. Our top tip is to make sure that you start sweeping from the top of the stairs. This will mean that dirt is not pushed into the carpet by your feet. The debris should be collected at the bottom of the sitars and removed with a dustpan and brush.

There may be occasions where you need to use carpet shampoo. If this is needed, it is best to seek advice in relation to which product will best suit your individual carpet. You can mix the carpet shampoo with water and apply the mixture into the stains. Use a cloth to soak up the excess. You can blot it or stand on a towel over the area to absorb the moisture. Do not scrub the area as this will damage the fibres.

Moving up and down, side to side and in circular motions will help to get deep into the fibres. If your carpet is left with too much moisture, this can create issues with mould. Therefore, it limiting the water is really important. A fan can also help speed up the drying process.

Wool carpets

Generally, wool carpets are available in two different alternatives. These include 100% wool or 80/20 wool mix carpet. To fully appreciate this type of carpet we thought we would highlight some of the advantages of a wool carpet.

Advantages of Wool Carpets

Durability

As a natural material, wool provides long-lasting durability and strength. It is a robust material that has good elasticity. This means that issues such as pile compression and tracking marks are significantly minimised. This also helps to make a wool look great over time.

Comfort

Wool as a material offers great luxury, comfort and warmth. It acts as an insulator which helps to retain heat and keep your floors warmer than other materials. Furthermore, wool will work to act as a sound absorber which is great for busy homes and large spaces.

Stain and Fire Resistance

As a natural fibre, it contains oils that are resistant to dirt. It will also work to repel other oil-based dirt which helps reduce staining and soiling. Wool is naturally fire resistant and has a slow ignition rate. Therefore, this offers great peace of mind for people looking to fit wool carpets in their homes.

A Natural and Sustainable Product

Shearing sheep of their wool is a crucial part of their care. This is a needed process that is then regrown the following year. As such, it is a completely sustainable product. Furthermore, as a natural material it is biodegradable in soil. This process itself produces plant nutrients and makes 100% wool carpets a brilliant choice for those with a focus on preservation.

Most importantly, wool carpets can be deep cleaned by professionals, leaving them hygienically clean. The steam cleaning process attacks any ingrained dirt and grime and removes it to leave beautifully cleaned and perfectly cared for wool carpets.

Our client in Preston made contact to see if we could help clean her wool carpet. A mystery stain had been found and they were concerned about damaging the wool fibres. We were able to deep clean the stair carpet, eliminating the carpet stain and leaving their wool carpet hygienically clean. Call to request a carpet cleaning quote on 0800 695 3455.

Sanitising carpets

Sanitising Carpets in Schools

Schools are indeed a prime example of having to been extremely thorough about their cleaning processes. This is a school we cleaned in Fullwood, Preston recently. Some of the carpets were past their best and in need of replacing. However, with a deep clean we were able to prolong the life of the carpets. Not only do they look brighter, but the school are in the knowledge that they are not only deeply cleaned but also properly sanitized. This is incredibly important for both the staff and the students at the school.

When people consider cleaning carpets, they are usually thinking about stain removal and improving the appearance of your carpets. These are incredibly important elements. However, it is also important to appreciate the health and hygiene benefits of professional carpet cleaning.

Some do not know that poor hygiene within your carpets can lead to health issues. Bacteria, allergens and other harmful elements cannot be seen. This does not mean that they are not bad for your health. These can cause respiratory issues, allergies and skin irritation. These are just some of the issues caused.

Respiratory issues are probably the most common. Debris can be expelled into the air and breathed in. This can exacerbate problems for those suffering but can also cause issues for those who have never experienced any.

If you are suffering with allergy-like symptoms, it is important to consider that the cause could be your carpets. Even if they don’t look soiled. This leads seamlessly into skin irritation. Rashes, itchy patches, athlete’s foot and even eczema can be caused by dust mites in a carpet.

By requesting the help of an expert carpet cleaner, you are able to avoid any of these and achieve sanitized carpets. Call Brights Cleaning on 0800 695 3455.

The important element of all floor maintenance is ensuring that you routinely maintain your chosen floor covering with the best techniques and cleaning solutions. By keeping on top of this cleaning, your floors will be left looking better and your home will offer a healthier environment as a result.

Carpets are warmer than any other flooring; they are comfy to walk on and can provide safety support if you have young children or elderly relatives that could possibly slip on other floors.

Carpets also absorb sound and are thought to offer thermal insulation and are therefore more energy efficient. Carpets are also less-expensive to install in comparison to wood floors or stone flooring.

We were invited to clean this bedroom carpet in Preston. It is a general misunderstanding that our bedroom carpets tend not to get as dirty as the rest of the house. This is, in fact, incorrect as we spend a huge amount of time in our bedrooms.

This shows that all carpets get soiled over time and need cleaning regularly. This may depend on the amount of time spent in the room, whether shoes are worn on the carpet, carpet type and foot fall.

It is a general rule that all carpets should be deep cleaned every 1-2 years at least. A large majority of our clients request an extensive clean every six months so that they can keep on top of the build-up of dirt, dust and allergens in their home carpets.

We have a tailored service that means we are equipped to offer a provision that is specific to your individual needs. If you would like to enquire about general carpet cleaning, carpet stain removal or carpet protection please call us today on 0800 695 3455 to book a no obligation quotation.
