Cleaning limestone tiles can be a challenge due to their light colouration. Dirt brought in from the outside gets ingrained into the tile’s surface. Routine cleaning can often drag this dirt from the surface of the tile into the grout lines.

However, dirt and grime does still remain on the tile. Over time, this becomes harder and harder to remove. Therefore routinely, it is always a good idea to ask for help from professional stone cleaners.

Stone cleaning machinery used by professionals really deep cleans the tile’s surface. Furthermore, it manages to remove the dirt and grime from the grout lines. This can be a real challenge if you do not have the right machinery or techniques.

This is a limestone floor we were asked to clean in Walmer Bridge, near Preston. The floor had general wear and tear from daily use, but a deep clean soon got it back to its natural beautiful state.

Before

Limestone tiles are available in huge range of colour variations, tile sizes and finishes. This allows for individuality when choosing limestone flooring for your home or business with the confidence that it will be long-lasting, attractive and sophisticated.

This limestone floor was laid in a bathroom in Poulton Le Fylde and over time had started to appear with a green tinge. This was a result of a build-up of soap scum and a mould due to ventilation issued within the room.

The stone flooring was treated with a limestone cleaning pre-spray; we then used our tailored stone cleaning process to bring the stone tiles back to the off-white shade they were supposed to be.

After

Each stone is individual and requires knowledge of the staining and requirements of natural stone. Damage can easily be caused if incorrect stone cleaning products or techniques are used.

Stone restoration is a hugely rewarding process and the home owners were incredibly pleased with the results that we are able to provide. We left them with information of a routine maintenance programme to ensure they were equipped with the knowledge to ensure that their limestone remained looking at its best.
