• Make sure to use cleaning solutions that you are confident will not damage your carpet
• Make sure to test any products on an inconspicuous area of your carpet
• Work from the outer edge of the stain towards the centre
• Try hard not to over wet any stain
• Do not scrub at any stain, instead dab the area
